Pretty cool that fun made their TV debut on Conan last night.
Crazy to think back on all of those Anathallo shows with Andrew Dost in small churches and crappy venues. I had no clue Will Noon was their touring drummer either?

#6: Transit - Listen & Forgive
Long Lost Friends has to be one of the most infections songs this year. There’s just something refreshing about Transit’s debut on Rise Record’s, Listen & Forgive. It’s genuine, honest and a wonderful late Summer/early Fall record for long drives. On par with my previous picks, this record reminds you of the music you loved in high school. I really hated that the...

#7: Bayside - Killing Time
I was a bit of a late bloomer on the cult that is Bayside, but I really fell in love with The Walking Wounded. Shudder didn’t have the lasting power I anticipated but I was pleasantly surprised with Bayside’s Killing Time. It’s really just the next evolution in a Bayside album with a lot of up tempo, hard hitting music with Anthony Raneri’s unique demure lyrical writing...

#8: Halos - Living Like Kings In Confined Spaces
Halos - Amalgam (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) from Josh Soskin on Vimeo.
How this band is not bigger, is beyond me. This album may have been posted towards the end of 2010 on MySpace, but it wasn’t printed or made available on major digital retailers until this year so I’m going to use it. With some of their better songs reworked from their previous EPs and a slew of new tracks, this CD...

#9: The Dangerous Summer - War Paint
I’m a sucker for anything that reminds me of music from high school and The Dangerous Summer does just that. War Paint doesn’t sound as much like early The Starting Line as they did on Reach For The Sun, but that’s probably for the better. Starting to come in to their own, the first six songs really hit with a nostalgic sound I love to hear. The latter half of the records...

#10: All Get Out - The Season
The Season by allgetout
Listen to #10, Come and Gone. When the drums kick in during the second half of the song, it’s just beautiful epic chaos. I feel like this is what I wanted Manchester Orchestra’s Simple Math to sound like, which is fitting because they’re on Andy’s label. Fall in love with these songs and then download all three of their Daytrotter sessions.
Top 10 Albums of 2011
No clue why, but I want to do a Top 10 Albums of 2011 list as if my opinion on music matters what so ever. It’ll be predictable and lame, but you’ll probably think I’m cool! (Right?)
I guess I’ll post one tonight…all 10 people that follow me.
